Surcharges for DX Services

All couriers apply surcharges for consignments that exceed size, weight limits, or don't strictly comply with their guidelines. We've outlined most of the surcharges for DX on our DX Surcharge Page.

While we've made this list at thorough as possible, please note that it is subject to change and may not include every surcharge.

As long as your parcel is measured and weighed correctly, and packed securely, you won’t have to worry about any extra charges.

Frequently Asked Questions

What DX delivery services can I book through Interparcel?

You can book DX Next Day and Economy services for parcels and packets, plus DX Freight for larger or heavier items. Availability varies by collection postcode and parcel size, so get a quick quote on Interparcel to see the DX options for your shipment.

What is the difference between DX and DX Freight?

DX is the wider delivery network known for documents, parcels, secure mail and express services, while DX Freight specialises in heavy, bulky, long or irregular shipments and pallets. Choose DX for standard parcels and documents, and DX Freight when your consignment is oversized, heavy or requires palletised transport.

How do I track a DX delivery booked with Interparcel?

Use your Interparcel tracking number on our tracking page. We also have email status notifications and text alerts if you want to select these options too.

Does DX offer parcel collection and drop off?

DX provides door to door collection and delivery services only, just like their slogan 'Delivered exactly'. DX does not currently offer the drop off option for their services.

What are the size and weight limits for DX parcels and freight?

DX parcel services usually accept items up to 25 to 30 kg per piece with length and girth limits, while DX Freight can take heavier or longer items. Limits differ by service, so check the maximum weight and dimensions shown in your Interparcel quote.

How long does DX delivery take in the UK?

DX Next Day aims to deliver on the next working day after collection, while Economy services take longer. Transit times depend on collection cut off, service selected, and destination. Remote areas may need additional time and deliveries do not occur on bank holidays. When you enter your delivery postcode during the quote process the system will show you the estimated delivery date for your goods.

Is my DX shipment covered and what items are prohibited?

Each DX service has a free amount of limited cover when you book through Interparcel and in addition you can add the Interparcel Enhanced Cover at checkout. Please check our Prohibited & Restricted items before you send, as some items may be prohibited or sent at your own risk, such as glass, cash, and hazardous goods.
